From Training to Employment — Youth Empowerment Journey
For young people across rural and semi-urban India, the path from education to meaningful employment is often unclear or inaccessible. Our Youth Empowerment & Employment initiatives are designed to change that — offering a structured, practical pathway that takes participants from training all the way to sustainable livelihoods.
We describe this journey through a simple framework: Training → Certification → Employment → Entrepreneurship → Sustainable Livelihood. Each stage builds on the previous one, ensuring that young participants don’t just acquire skills, but are guided all the way through to real economic outcomes.
It begins with practical, industry-relevant training across our various focus areas — whether that’s vocational and technical skills, agriculture, or herbal livelihoods. Unlike purely academic education, our training is hands-on and designed around what employers and markets actually need, giving young participants a genuine head start.
Certification follows, giving participants formal recognition of the skills they’ve acquired. This matters significantly in the job market, where certification often serves as the first filter employers use when evaluating candidates. Our certification programs are designed to be credible and recognized within relevant industries.
From there, we support participants in moving toward employment — whether through direct placement support, connections with industry partners, or guidance on how to present their newly acquired skills to potential employers. For those interested in a different path, we also support entrepreneurship, helping motivated young people start their own small businesses rather than seeking traditional employment.
Underlying all of this is career counselling, a service we offer to help young people make informed decisions about which path — employment or entrepreneurship — best suits their skills, interests, and circumstances. Many young people simply lack access to this kind of guidance, and we aim to fill that gap.
We also run incubation and innovation initiatives for youth who show entrepreneurial promise, providing additional support to help transform good ideas into viable, sustainable ventures.
Ultimately, our youth empowerment work is about more than just individual jobs — it’s about building a generation of confident, skilled, and economically independent young people who can contribute meaningfully to their communities. We continue to partner with industries, educational institutions, and government bodies to expand these opportunities and reach more young people every year.
